Casting and jigging spoons have long been a mainstay in the tackle boxes of anglers across the US and for good reason…they flat out catch fish! When retrieved or trolled at a slow speed, casting spoons move through the water with a slow wobble that so closely mimics wounded baitfish that predatory fish have to take a bite. When vertically jigged, spoons become like dying baitfish, darting up and down in the water column, presenting as easy prey.
Etic USA is excited to introduce the Cobra spoon to the US market. The Cobra has a unique shape that allows it to be used for both casting/trolling and jigging.
The Cobra is heavy enough to give long distances when casting, giving the angler a great tool to cover more water quickly. A slow retrieve brings the Cobra to life, giving it an undulating wobble that sends out vibrations farther in the water to attract more fish. A fast retrieve keeps the Cobra closer to the surface of the water and gives the appearance of fleeing bait, triggering that important reactive strike. Trolling also produces the same results, and depth can be controlled with all conventional trolling gear.
Vertically jigging the Cobra can be exciting! The Cobra can reach the targeted depth quickly and falls very erratically, tempting predators to take a bite. Because of the wedged shape of the Cobra, pulses sound waves are sent through the water column calling out to any nearby fish and ringing the dinner bell. A quick snap of the rod gives the Cobra a sharp jolt only to be followed by another very erratic flutter.
Because the Cobra is this versatile, it will easily become one of the most important tools in an anglers box and they will reach for it often. It currently comes in black, silver, silver/blue, silver copper and silver gold covering the spectrum of baits to attract all types of gamefish. From walleye to bass and rockfish to red drum and trout, the Cobra catches them all.
